You may make three attempts within three years to pass a certification and registration exam. The three-year period begins with the starting date of your initial ARRT exam window. After three unsuccessful exam attempts or three years—whichever comes first—your eligibility ends.

If you fail your exam, try not to worry—you'll have two more opportunities to retake the exam within three years.

If you're certified and registered with ARRT in one discipline, such as Radiography, your credential string should read: Your Name, R.T.(R)(ARRT). If you're certified and registered in multiple disciplines, list them like this, usually in the order you earned them: Your Name, R.T.(R)(CT)(MR)(ARRT).

On some exam versions, you might need to correctly answer 131 of 200 questions to receive a scaled score of 75. On more “difficult” exam versions, you might need only to answer 130 of 200 questions correctly to receive a 75 scaled score.
