The most commonly used room status codes are occupied, vacant, dirty, clean, ready and out of order.

The Front Desk puts emphasis on the Reservation Status of the guest (Expected Arrival, In-House, etc.) but also shows a Room Status of clean, dirty, etc. Housekeeping puts emphasis on the Room Status (clean, dirty, etc.) but also shows whether there is a reservation for that room.

VC - Vacant and Clean - Room is Vacant and Cleaned by the housekeeper. VD - Vacant and Dirty - Room is Vacant and Dirty. OC - Occupied and Clean - Room is Occupied and Cleaned by the Housekeeping. OD - Occupied and Dirty - Room is Occupied and yet to be cleaned by the housekeeping.
