Get St Timothy Award

Timothy Award is a national award given annually to twelve young people in the Diocese who particularly exemplify the qualities of moral integrity, prayer, good works, and Christian leadership in their parish or high school community.

Timothy is the patron saint of stomach and intestinal ailments, owing it to St. Paul's advice in 1 Timothy 5:23, “No longer drink water exclusively, but us a little wine for the sake of your stomach”.

Timothy is venerated as an apostle, saint, and martyr by the Eastern Orthodox Church, with his feast day on 22 January. The General Roman Calendar venerates Timothy together with Titus by a memorial on 26 January, the day after the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul.

We celebrate January 26 as his feast day. Timothy was the son of a Greek father and a Jewish mother.

St. Timothy, patron saint of stomach disorders, pray for us in our time of need and give us strength and wisdom to spread the word of God in all we do. As the patron saint of those who suffer from irritable bowl symptoms, lactose intolerance, and all problems of the stomach, pray for us.

Timothy is believed to have been with Paul during his imprisonment in Caesarea. Timothy became the first bishop of Ephesus and when he opposed the Katagogian festival, a pagan honor of Diana, he was stoned to death. St. Timothy is the patron saint of stomach ailments.

Timothy worked with Paul and Silas and helped found churches, notably in Corinth, Thessalonica, and Philippi. He apparently accompanied Paul to Ephesus and Asia Minor (Acts 19:22; 1 Corinthians 16:10–11).
