The SafetyNet Attestation API provides a cryptographically-signed attestation, assessing the device's integrity. In order to create the attestation, the API examines the device's software and hardware environment, looking for integrity issues, and comparing it with the reference data for approved Android devices.

Google's servers send the signed attestation to the SafetyNet Attestation service on the device. The SafetyNet Attestation service returns this signed attestation to your app. Your app forwards the signed attestation to your server. This server validates the response and uses it for anti-abuse decisions.

This attestation provides assurance that the properties of the device (for example, the serial number) are legitimate (as attested to by the device's Secure Enclave and verified by Apple's servers) and not spoofed.

How do you attach self attested copies? Self-attestation simply requires you to place your signature on a photocopy of the document you want to certify. After you have a made a clean copy of your document, write a statement on it such as: “True copy” or “Self-attested copy”. Then place your signature directly under it.
