You will need a standard 52-card deck to play poker run, and do not want more contestants/stops than there are cards. For example, if you had 15 contestants and 15 stops, there would not be enough cards for each contestant to grab 1 card per stop.

Straight (Run): Five sequential cards, not of the same suit. Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank e.g. three Aces, three Kings etc. Two Pair: Two sets of pairs e.g. a pair of Aces and a pair of Kings.

A Poker run (also known as a Poker Derby), is an organized event using a motorcycle, boat, car or other form of transportation where participants travel over a predesignated route and, at designated stops on the route, draw playing card(s).

Participants initially register at a specific location where they purchase one or more blank tally sheets used to record the poker cards they'll draw at each stop. The participants then take their tally sheet(s) to the first stop where a volunteer has a container filled with a bag of cards.
