You are provided with $5,000 of basic term life insurance at no cost, as well as accidental death and dismemberment coverage. As an employee, you have the option of pur- chasing Supplemental Life Insurance up to five times your annual salary.

The School also provides an unpaid Child Rearing Leave for a total amount of unpaid and paid leave up to six months occurring within the first year after the birth or adoption for the child's care. Longer leaves may be granted only with the approval of the provost. Processes are delineated under Unpaid Leaves.

All leaves of absence must be approved by the assistant dean of student affairs or the senior associate dean of academic affairs. Medical leaves also require the written recommendation of a physician on the staff of Yale Health, as described below. A student may be granted a leave of absence of one to two years.

Full-Time or Part-Time Staff members regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for participation in most benefit programs, subject to any specific requirements described under each benefit program.
