(a) Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) is a procedure where the responsible party, as defined in § 2.909, makes measurements or completes other procedures found acceptable to the Commission to ensure that the equipment complies with the appropriate technical standards and other applicable requirements.

ISO/IEC 17065 was developed by the CASCO committee that controls all conformity assessment activities. The standard guides accreditation bodies for certification of products, services, and processes with full competence, consistency, transparency, and zero impartiality.

ISO/IEC 17050-1:2004 specifies general requirements for a supplier's declaration of conformity in cases where it is desirable, or necessary, that conformity of an object to the specified requirements be attested, irrespective of the sector involved.

An SDoC is a document that contains a description of the article and a test report confirming how it complies with the required standard or AS/NZS 3820. If an electrical worker supplies declared high or medium risk electrical equipment, then the EW is the supplier and they must ensure that they can supply a valid SDoC.

ISO 17021 is an International Standard that provides Certification Bodies (CB) with a set of requirements that will enable them to ensure that their management system certification process is carried out in a competent, consistent and impartial manner.
