Get College Declaration Form

All matriculated students must declare a major before completing 60 credits. Transfer students entering with 60 credits or more must declare their major by the census date in their first semester which can be found in the Academic Calendar.

How to Declare. Complete and submit the online Major, Minor, Certificate Declaration and Change Form. You will need your Net ID and password to access the form.

To declare or change a minor, a student should print a Minor Declaration Approval form at registrar.hunter.cuny.edu/subpages/forms.shtml and confer with an adviser in the minor department. In general, courses may not be shared between a major and a minor.

In order to actually begin your degree program, you'll need to declare your major. This declaration is the official notification to your university that you intend to pursue a degree in your area of study. Typically, you'll need to apply for admission into your intended program.

SHARE: In addition to the undergraduate degree programs offered at CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS), we offer optional minors as a way for students who are majoring in other areas and wish to organize their available elective credits.

Students who need to drop a major and/ or minor can do so by completing the Request to Drop Declared Second or Third Major, Minor or Advanced Certificate Form available on the Office of the Registrar website. All students must have one declared major on their record.

How do you declare your major? There are several ways: You can reach out to the Department Chair of your preferred major via email. Once it's approved you can forward their email approval to registrar@washcoll.edu.

Students should declare minors by the time they have earned 75 credits by filling out the electronic Undergraduate Declaration of Minor Form found at the Jay Stop web page, choose MY JJC. Students should be able to see their declared minors on their unofficial transcripts on eSIMS.
