Get National Service Trust Exit Form

When you log into My AmeriCorps, go to the section at the top of your home page, entitled "Close of Service Forms." Complete this form once it becomes available to you and prior to your expected completion date.

You can leave AmeriCorps VISTA early if you accept a job offer. By doing so, you forfeit all benefits including your stipend, the Segal Education Award, and Federal Non-Competitive Eligibility.

All AmeriCorps members will need to complete and submit Part 1 of the AmeriCorps Exit Form prior to finishing their term of service. All members will be granted access to complete this form thirty days prior to their expected completion date.

When you exit an AmeriCorps program prior to the end of the service term, this is an Early Exit. There are two types of Early Exits: Exit for Cause and Exit for Personal Compelling Circumstances. Exit for Cause: A member decided to leave, finds a new job, leaves for dissatisfaction, is dismissed, etc.

Terminate my service early: You should select this option if you wish to exit VISTA prior to your expected completion date. If you select this option, you will be asked to enter the date of your termination and select your reason for terminating early.

Step 1: Find and select the member's record. Step 2: From the Member Home screen, click the “view” link next to member's current term of service to open the View Service Term Information screen. Step 3: Select the “unlock exit form” link to give the member access to the Exit Form and Member Exit Survey.

A member exited for personal compelling circumstances receives a partial Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. The amount of the award is based on how many hours they have served at time of exit.
