To become a Class L shareholder, applicants must be a lineal descendant of an original Ahtna shareholder; have ¼ or more Alaska Native blood quantum; be born after December 18, 1971; be a United States citizen; and must not already be a shareholder of another regional corporation, unless through gifting or inheritance.

Alaska Natives increasingly prefer to be known by the names they use in their own languages, such as Inupiaq or Yupik. "Inuit" is now the current term in Alaska and across the Arctic, and "Eskimo" is fading from use.

Ahtna Construction has offices in four Alaska locations: Anchorage, Palmer, Fairbanks and Glennallen.

Class L stock is “life estate” stock, which means that it is only issued for your lifetime. Upon your death, the stock is cancelled without compensation to your heirs.
