WindCode is Clopay's rating system for garage doors designed to withstand the high wind speeds of a hurricane, tropical storm or other strong-wind weather event.

ASCE 7-16 describes the means for determining design loads including dead, live, soil, flood, tsunami, snow, rain, atmospheric ice, earthquake, wind, and fire, as well as how to assess load combinations.

The design wind load shall be calculated as P = qhG CN (30.8-1) where qh= velocity pressure at mean roof height h using the exposure defined in Section 26.7. 3 G= 0.85 as gust effect factor.

Where: Kd is the Wind directionality factor based on 7.2. 1 of IS 875-3. Equal to 1.0 when considering local pressure coefficients.

The Code of Practice on Wind Effects Hong Kong – 1983, currently governs the wind resistant design of all buildings and structures in Hong Kong. The wind code is published by the Building Department (previously the Building Authority), which is also the approving body for almost all buildings and structures.

The 1983 Wind Code gave the design wind pressures under two categories of terrain: "built-up terrain" for city centre sites and "general terrain" for other areas. The Code allowed the design wind pressures at various heights to be used for the corresponding parts of the building in calculating the total wind load.
