A Wastewater Discharge Permit (WWDP) refers to the legal authorization issued by DENR-EMB Regional Office that specifies and states the prescribed wastewater discharges (quality and quantity) from any facility or project. A WWDP is required for each outfall or discharge point of a project or facility.

Mainly found in nature as result of industrial discharge (such as oil well drilling, metal finishing, ceramics, and inorganic pigment [83,88,89]), heavy metals (e.g., lead, barium, zinc, nickel, copper, manganese, chromium) are known to be found in several contamination and industrial spilling points.

That wastewater can contain high concentrations of dissolved solids (salts), naturally occurring radionuclides, and metals, as well as other pollutants used in drilling and completion of wells.

Industrial waste may be solid, semi-solid or liquid in form. It may be hazardous waste (some types of which are toxic) or non-hazardous waste.

The types of industrial waste generated include cafeteria garbage, dirt and gravel, masonry and concrete, scrap metals, trash, oil, solvents, chemicals, weed grass and trees, wood and scrap lumber, and similar wastes.
