Arkansas law requires that all front seat passengers, not just drivers, be buckled up. It requires all children under fifteen years of age to be properly secured in the vehicle. A child who is less than six years of age and who weighs less than sixty pounds should be restrained in a child passenger safety seat.

Arkansas state law requires all children under 16 to be properly secured in a vehicle. Children under six and weighing less than 60 pounds must ride in a car seat. Forward-facing seats can only be used by children between the age of 4 to 7 and with a weight of 60-65 pounds. Arkansas law exempts children 6 years or older weighing at least 60 pounds from using booster seats.

In order to ride in the front seat, a child needs to be at least 13 years old AND weigh at least 80 pounds AND be 4'9” tall or taller. Keep babies and toddlers in rear-facing seats as long as possible.
