All TOPS recipients must maintain continuous full-time enrollment. A student must be enrolled in at least 8 semester credit hours at Louisiana Tech University to be considered as full-time. They must also earn 24 hours of credit each academic year or the number of hours needed to complete their undergraduate degree.

A full-time undergraduate student is one enrolled in at least 8 semester hours for the quarter, excluding credit examinations and audited courses. A part-time undergraduate student is one enrolled in fewer than 8 semester hours for the quarter.
