We are closing out the 2020 school year at Bethune-Cookman University amidst unprecedented and unparalleled challenges posed by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Bethune-Cookman University is a private liberal arts institution in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is an Historically Black College University (HCBU) with a strong foundation in the United Methodist Church. Bethune-Cookman University began in 1904 as the Daytona Educational and Industrial Training School for Negro Girls.

Although B-CU is a Historically Black University, the campus is very diverse from the faculty, staff, to the students. Bethune-Cookman is a small instauration, allowing students to develope a family atmosphere, which contributes to social and civic engagements.

Bethune. Under her leadership, in 2006 the first Master's degree program was added, and in 2007 the College achieved university-status, officially becoming Bethune-Cookman University.

The enrolled student population at Bethune-Cookman University, both undergraduate and graduate, is 77.6% Black or African American, 3.07% Hispanic or Latino, 2.39% Two or More Races, 1.47% White, 0.121% American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.0724% Asian, and 0.0241% Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islanders.
