Before your ID1 will be accepted by the Land Registry, it needs to be verified by a lawyer who will inspect your proof of identity documentation and also meet you in person to verify you are who you say you are.

Data verification is a way of ensuring the user types in what he or she intends, in other words, to make sure the user does not make a mistake when inputting data. An example of this includes double entry of data (such as when creating a password or email) to prevent incorrect data input.

A verification form is a certification to prove or confirm the status of an individual. The process usually requires a third (3rd) party to provide documentation, such as a letter, as evidence. After the form has been completed, the party verifying the information requested should be signed.

You will need to take the identity evidence mentioned in section B3 of form ID1 or form ID2 and a passport-size photograph with you taken in the last 3 months (you will need 2 copies of the photograph if you are going to a conveyancer , because they will need a copy for their records).

Methods for data verification include double data entry, proofreading and automated verification of data. Proofreading data involves someone checking the data entered against the original document. This is also time consuming and costly.
