Communication plans often list when certain communications need to happen. For example, it may list a meeting held every Monday morning to discuss project goals for the week or details to send to stakeholders at the end of the month.

The five steps involved in creating a communications plan are: (1) establishing goals; (2) defining key audiences; (3) identifying key messages; (4) creating a tactical outreach plan; and (5) specifying a timeline for moving forward. We will discuss each of these steps in turn.

The Model Communication Plan (MCP) is a required component of the IEP process for students who have been identified as having the Deaf/Hard of Hearing exceptionality. This includes students who are Dual Sensory Impaired (deaf-blind).
