What is the maximum timeframe? The federal government defines the maximum timeframe as 150% of your program's published length, as measured in credit hours. For example, a typical undergraduate degree requires 120 credits which would result in a maximum timeframe of 180 credit hours (120 x 150%).

However, you may submit a Maximum Time Frame Appeal to explain your situation if you have a valid circumstance.

Federal regulations also state that a student becomes ineligible for financial aid whenever it becomes mathematically impossible to complete degree program without exceeding the maximum time-frame/hours. Students in this scenario are no longer eligible for federal aid and are placed on financial aid suspension.

SAP Appeals are typically reviewed within 3-4 weeks from the time an appeal is submitted online and supporting documentation is reviewed and deemed Complete.
