If a student decides to withdraw, he or she must notify the Office of the Registrar by submitting an official withdrawal form. Forms are available at all campus locations and through our online form database. Failure to attend a course does not constitute a withdrawal.

Honours/Distinction - If a graduate completes a postsecondary certificate, diploma or degree program achieving an overall grade point average (GPA) of 80 per cent or higher, the phrase “with Honours” will appear on the credential after the program title.

In a word, no — there are no academic repercussions to skipping commencement. There is also no requirement to be physically present at graduation in order to officially earn your degree. While often referred to as "graduation," the commencement ceremony is just that: ceremonial.

The process Georgian uses to assess whether students have met all graduation requirements is called auditing. As soon as you're officially deemed a graduate through the auditing process, your graduation letter and unofficial transcript PDFs will be added to your document hub on MyGCLife.

The Dean's List is composed of students with a term grade point average of 3.6000 to 3.8999 earned during the term if the student carried at least 12 credit hours of letter-graded courses. Students with incomplete grade(s) at the end of the semester are not eligible for the Dean's List.
