The American Legion, commonly known as the Legion, is a patriotic organization of U.S. war veterans headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Squadron officers of the Sons of The American Legion shall consist of a Squadron Commander, Squadron Vice Commander or Vice Commanders, Adjutant, Finance Officer, Chaplain, Sergeant-At-Arms, Historian, and such other officers as may be required.

Officers are elected annually by unit members and may include president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, chaplain, historian, and sergeant-at-arms (specific officers vary by unit).

Marching across the battlefield, Legion Commander challenges lone enemies in single combat. Each duel she wins increases the power of her attacks, until at last she can become a relentless one-woman army. Turns the enemies' numbers against them, dealing damage per unit or per hero and granting you bonus attack speed.

The national commander is the executive head of the Legion, with full power to enforce provisions of the Legion's constitution, by-laws and resolutions. Each national commander serves a one-year term, after which a new one is elected at the national convention; five national vice commanders are also elected annually.

The legion was commanded by a legatus or legate.

The adjutant's job The adjutant is similar to a first sergeant of a military unit, around whom all post activities revolve. Many posts retain a good adjutant in office over a period of years as opposed to a one-year position.

In addition to the national commander and vice commanders, six national constitutional officers are appointed annually by vote of the National Executive Committee. They are the adjutant, treasurer, judge advocate, historian, chaplain and sergeant-at-arms.
