An Assessor might directly teach or supervise a participant in their activity, and can also be someone a participant goes to for guidance and to ask questions even if they are not directly involved in the activity. Participants need to choose a different Assessor for each Award activity.

To become accredited you need to complete a series of e-learning modules as well as a one day assessment course which covers the requirements and responsibilities of the role, and finally a supported assessment, where you will be judged on your performance.

You can request that your accreditation be renewed by going to 'My expedition assessor accreditation' and completing the 'Route to reaccreditation'. You will then be able to reaccredit yourself for the next 5 years.

Assessors will receive an email 6 months and 3 months before the Assessor's accreditation is due to expire. Assessor can request reaccreditation directly through their eDofE account.
