Choose Tools > Edit PDF. In the secondary toolbar, choose More > Bates Numbering > Remove.

You cannot edit Bates page numbering after you've added it to a document. You can, however, delete Bates numbering and apply a different Bates numbering formula.

If you have Acrobat Pro create a new Action (via Tools - Action Wizard) with the Remove Bates Numbering command and a Save command and then run it on your files.

Choose Tools > Edit PDF. The Edit PDF toolset is displayed in the secondary toolbar. In the secondary toolbar, choose More > Bates Numbering > Add. In the Bates Numbering dialog box, click Add Files, and choose Add Files, Add Folders, or Add Open Files.

Select Edit > Insert > Bates Numbering > Remove to permanently remove Bates numbers from currently open files. Other header and/or footer elements, if any, are retained. An information box instructs you how to interpret the results of the operation.

Open up a pdf document using the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC app and then choose the following option: Edit -> Preferences… Finally, highlight the 'Accessibility' option on the left hand side and the following window will be displayed: The blue oval shows where the high contrast options are.

To remove Bates numbers from a PDF file: On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Marks group, click the arrow next to Bates Number and click Remove Bates Numbering. Click OK at the confirmation prompt, and the tool will scan the document and remove all instances of Bates numbering.
