PURPOSE This Directive prescribes the policy for the use of state parks forests and natural areas. 2. APPLICABILITY Only active members of the New Jersey Army and Air National Guard are authorized to receive a pass. 3. REFERENCE New Jersey State Assembly Bill No* 1565 dated 11 June 1992 which amends Section 12 of Public Law 1983 c*324 C. 13 1L-12 4. OBJECTIVE To provide an exemption to active members of the New Jersey National Guard from admission fees for New Jersey state parks and forests. 5. RESPONSIBILITY a* The Chief Administrative Services Bureau NJDMAVA shall have the responsibility for the effective management of the program* b. The Division of Parks and Forestry New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection NJDEP shall have the responsibility of ensuring compliance with the program* 6. PROCEDURES a* The NJDEP will coordinate with NJDMAVA to insure that new numbered passes are distributed in the first quarter of each new calendar year. b. NJDMAVA will issue the passes through the major command administrative offices using DA Form 410 or AF Form 1297 Receipt for Accountable Items. This Directive supersedes Dept Dir 790 dated 1 Jun 94. DD 790 1 Oct 07 c* The receiving organization will be responsible for acquiring signatures for each card issued* The roster of signatures and the unused cards will be turned in to NJDMAVA Attn IASD-ASB by the major command administrative offices not later than 1 October of each calendar year. e. The pass is to be used for access to the park forest or natural area and shall not be used for free access to the various activities within the park or forest. 7.
