Get Dock Warrant

Warehouse Receipt is a proof of storage. It is an acknowledgement of the goods held by the warehouse keeper on behalf of the person named therein. It is a document issued by a warehouse keeper stating that he holds the goods mentioned in the receipt and is awaiting instructions from the person to whom it is addressed.

Dock warrant, in law, a document by which the owner of a marine or river dock certifies that the holder is entitled to goods imported and warehoused in the docks.

What is a Dock Receipt? The dock receipt is designed to provide the exporter with proof of delivery of the cargo to the international carrier in good condition. The inland carrier may deliver the goods to a warehouse company or a warehouse operated by the carrier as arranged by the freight forwarder.

As such, documents like share warrants payable to bearer, debentures payable to bearer and dividend warrants are negotiable instruments. But the money orders and postal orders, deposit receipts, share certificates, bill of lading, dock warrant, etc. are not negotiable instruments.
