Skills assessments are issued by relevant skills assessing authorities. A skills assessing authority is an organisation that checks that your skills meet the standards they set to work in a relevant occupation. The combined list of eligible skilled occupations sets out all relevant occupations under 4 occupation lists.

How long will it take for my assessment to be completed? The approximate time is between 12 and 20 weeks. Every assessment is undertaken on a case-by-case basis and the time will vary depending on how soon we receive all the documents we need and any additional information from you or your referees.

VETASSESS is also an assessment only Registered Training Organisation (RTO) which conducts trade skills assessments in 16 countries and in more than 30 different trade occupations on behalf of Trades Recognition Australia (TRA).

How long does the assessment take? For applications that do not require any requests for additional documentation or information, please allow between 8 - 10 weeks for the skills assessment to be completed.

A Skills Assessment is an important part of the professional occupations recognition process when migrating to Australia. It will determine if you have the skills and knowledge required to work in your occupation in Australia. At VETASSESS, we assess more than 360 professional occupations.

A Technical Interview is a structured conversation between you and the assessor where the assessor will ask you questions about the skills and knowledge necessary to work in your trade in Australia. The interview will take about 2 hours.

VETASSESS skills assessments are currently valid for three years from the original issue date for skilled migration purposes. It is recommended that applicants seek confirmation from the Department of Home Affairs in regard to their requirements for visa applications.
