The best place to begin finding rodeo sponsors is your own backyard. People in your own community will be most interested in the rodeo and supporting a local event. These community sponsors can be located at your local chamber of commerce, or by simply reaching out by phone, email, or in person.

The PRCA is excited to work with the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association to introduce a PRCA Academic Permit to the NIRA members. The purpose of this program is to allow NIRA members to pursue a Professional rodeo career in the PRCA while completing their college education.

This amount includes guaranteed prize money of $1.2 million for all NFR qualifiers and $9,700,098 in competition prize money. Based on the updated purse in 2022, the increase will see round winners take home $28,914 per round and average winners earn $74,150.

A PRCA permit costs $300 (a PRCA card costs $500), and includes insurance and event rep fees.

Cowboys who want to apply for membership in the PRCA must first obtain a permit card and then earn at least $1,000 at PRCA-sanctioned rodeos; there is no time limit to “fill” the permit. Money won under a permit card counts toward circuit standings, but not toward world standings or rookie standings.
