The Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) is a voluntary program that seeks to improve the health of low-income pregnant women and to give their babies a healthy start in life by providing enhanced Medi-Cal reimbursements to CPSP-certified obstetrical providers who implement CPSP protocols in their practices.

CPSP aims to improve birth outcomes, including reducing the incidence of preterm births and low birth weight infants. CPSP services provide care that goes beyond routine prenatal care and includes case coordination. Services include: Enhanced prenatal care, including nutrition, psychosocial, and health education.

The Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) provides a wide range of culturally competent services to Medi-Cal pregnant women, from conception through 60 days postpartum. In addition to standard obstetric services, women receive enhanced services in the areas of nutrition, psychosocial and health education.
