Travel expense reimbursement is the process of paying your employees back for the out-of-pocket expenses incurred during a business trip. The firm must reimburse the employee fully if the employee, during the business trip, had paid from his wallet for expenses such as travel, food, etc.

Visitor Expense Reimbursements. It is the policy of Northwestern University to reimburse individuals who are not University faculty or staff, but who have incurred expenses for University-approved, business-related expenses, including transportation, lodging, and other travel or non-travel costs.
