Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above to apply. Must complete studies/training as full time students attending all normal school sessions (2 semesters or 3 quarters), and must maintain a GPA of above 3.0 after selection.

ELIGIBILITY To qualify for the HPSP scholarship, you must: Be a U.S. citizen with a baccalaureate degree from an accredited school. Be enrolled in or have a letter of acceptance or intent from an accredited graduate program located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

HPSP participants are eligible for 12 months of financial assistance each year: 10 ½ months of stipend and 1½ months of active duty pay and allowances as an Ensign while on annual training (AT). Stipend payments are suspended while a student is on AT or if placed in a Leave Without Pay (LWOP) status.

What does HPSP offer? HPSP offers full-tuition scholarships, plus a monthly stipend of over $2,300/month and a $20,000 signing bonus in return for a 3-4 year commitment to serve as a naval physician. Future physicians are commissioned as ensigns (O-1) and promoted to lieutenants (O-3) upon graduation.
