In order to be eligible for RRH in the state of Connecticut, the individual must be literally homeless and be screened by United Way's 2-1-1 (Infoline). 2-1-1 will refer the caller to the Coordinated Access Network (CAN) site in their immediate interview.

Homeless persons are those who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, or those living in shelters and temporary housing, or public and private places not designed for sleeping accommodations (e.g. on the street, in cars, in parks, etc.).

CalWORKs HA can provide payments for temporary shelter for up to 16 days, as well as payments to secure or maintain housing, including a security deposit and last month's rent, or up to two months of rent arrearages. Section 8 Income Limits in California The California PHA divides income levels into categories that include low-income, very low-income, and extremely low-income. To qualify for Section 8 in the state of California, your combined household income needs to be below 80% of the median income in the area.

Rapid re-housing is an intervention that assists individuals and families with short-term rental assistance and support services to quickly end their homelessness and return them to permanent housing.

Generally, the family's income may not exceed 50 percent of the median income for the county or metropolitan area in which the family chooses to live. [By law, a PHA must provide 75 percent of its vouchers to applicants whose incomes do not exceed 30 percent of the area median income.]
