GTM speeds up many tracking processes. Forbes cites research that noted a 600% improvement in tag implementation for customers using GTM. With pre-built templates and an easy-to-navigate user interface, marketers can create, test and deploy tracking codes and events in real-time.

Navigate to the Google Tag Manager website at: https://.google.com/analytics/tag-manager/ and log in. You can add users at the “Account” level so they can see all containers under that account, or at the “Container” level, so they can only see that specific container.

You can continue to use Google Tag Manager for your mobile apps by updating to the current version. The deprecation process will follow this timeline: June 30, 2019: You will no longer be able to create new containers of the “Android (Legacy)” or “iOS (Legacy)” types.

But it looks like Google Tag Manager isn't going away anytime soon: it's very popular, and the number of free and paid GTM resources is also constantly increasing. Also, if you're stuck with GTM, you can always get help in various places, e.g. GTM subreddit, GTM community on Facebook.

If you want to add Google Analytics Tracking code or events, it's recommended to do so with GTM because you don't need to change the website's code constantly. Therefore, your deployment process is faster. Google Tag Manager can exist without Google Analytics and vice-versa.

The current version of Google Tag Manager (version 4, or “Legacy”) for mobile apps will no longer be supported by Google as of March 2020. But, limitations on the functionality of GTM version 4 have already begun.

It has limited support for the variety of tools data-driven businesses need. Google Tag Manager provides native support for ads and analytics networks. While it offers more support options for websites, it supports less than 12 tools for mobile apps.
