Get Pony Club D2 Test Sheet

Your child joins Pony Club as an unrated member and progresses through the lower level ratings (D1, D2, D3, C1, C2). The top five rating levels, C3, HB, B, HA, and A are national ratings, administered by the National Testing Committee.

If the C-3 riding test is passed before the H-B, the member becomes a C+. The minimum age for the C-3 certification is 13 years old. The B Certification requires further knowledge and proficiency in riding. The B is able to ride experienced mounts, both their. own and others, with confidence and control.

The levels of certification start at what is called D Level (beginner), progressing to C Level (intermediate) then to B Level and A Level (advanced).

At the C Level Certifications (C-1, C-2) members become active horsemen, caring independently for his/her horse and tack. Focus on more independence in horse management as well as developing increased control and confidence in riding are studied. D-1: Member demonstrates basic skills on the ground and on the horse.

The Pony Club was formed in Great Britain in 1929 when the Institute of the Horse formed a youth branch of their organization, "The Pony Club." It was formed to encourage children to start riding, while providing them with opportunities in the field that they would not be able to reach on their own.

Candidates should understand the basic aids. Format: The D+ test consists of riding, including jumping three fences (max. height 65cm) and riding on undulating ground, horse care and knowledge and road sense theory.

The Pony Club is the world's largest equestrian youth organisation, with over 30,000 Members in the UK alone.

C+ Test Mimimum Age: 14. Disc Colour: Pink. C+ riders will demonstrate C test level riding as well as show a turn on the forehand, leg yielding, and capability to jump a variety of show jumps and cross-country fences in an open field. B Test Mimimum Age: 16.
