Adar (Hebrew: אֲדָר ʾAdār; from Akkadian adaru) is the sixth month of the civil year and the twelfth month of the religious year on the Hebrew calendar, roughly corresponding to the month of March in the Gregorian calendar. It is a month of 29 days.

In the sixth episode, Adar reveals to Galadriel that he is an Uruk - one of the Elves who was corrupted by Morgoth into becoming the first of a new kind, the Orcs. The character is not seen until the end of the third episode and even then, is shown out of focus as we learn Arondir is being brought to him by the Orcs.

This one feels like a stretch as well, given that Adar is an Elf and the Witch-King of Angmar, the “leader” of the Nine, the Ring Wraiths, is a human. That's canon, and the Tolkien Estate has made it clear to Amazon that they cannot mess with canon directly. It is also covered in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Adar is an elf who was manipulated with evil magic. He served under Morgoth and claims that he killed Sauron. He does not seem to recognize Halbrand as Sauron, and yet he carries out what we can assume is his master's evil bidding by setting in motion the events that burn the Southlands and create Mordor.

In order to keep Pesach in that season, every two to three years an extra month is added to the calendar, adar. By doing this, the months align themselves perfectly into the correct seasons, and thereby all the Jewish holidays too.

The Jewish month of Adar is when we celebrate the Purim story that took place between the years 366-357 BCE. The entire story occurred over a nine year period with the culmination of the Jews being saved in the month of Adar.
