The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) measures the degree to which situations in your life are perceived as stressful. The series of questions have been designed to assess how unpredictable, uncontrollable, and overloaded you feel your life to be, as well as a direct questione about your current level of experienced stress.

How do you interpret the Perceived Stress Scale results? Your individual stress score can go all the way from 0 to 56, and as you might have figured out already, higher PSS scores indicate higher levels of perceived stress: If you scored anywhere from 0 to 19, then your stress level would be considered low.

The Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ), consisting of 80 items, was originally developed by Willis H. Ware and his colleagues (Ware, Snyder, and Wright, 1976 a, b; see “Related Reading” below).

The Perceived Stress Scale is a 14 item measure of the degree to which situations in one's life are appraised as stressful with responses rated on a 5-point Likert scale (0 =never to 4 =very often).
