Get Gregorian To Lunar

The Western calendar, formally known as the Gregorian calendar, is a solar calendar. It counts the time it takes for the Earth to go around the Sun once as a year. Each month has the same number of days every year, except during leap years. The Chinese lunar calendar is, despite its name, a lunisolar calendar.

You can show Chinese Lunar calendar dates along with their Gregorian equivalents. in the bottom-left corner, then choose Preferences. In the General pane, select “Show Chinese Lunar calendar,” then click Save.

The lunar month has 29 or 30 days for a month. Gregorian calendar is calculated by the movement of sun, which has 30 or 31 days for a month. There is 21 to 51 days behind the corresponding Gregorian calendar date (intercalary months excepted).

Our present calendar (called the Gregorian Calendar) is a basically solar calendar that grew from what was originally a Lunar calendar used by the Romans. The original calendar contained 10 months of length 29 or 30 days.
