Obtain a Texas Commercial Driver's License –Class B with a passenger, and school bus endorsement. Pass a DOT physical annually and pre-employment drug testing. Pass State license check and criminal history check. Participate and pass a 20 hour Texas School Bus Driver Certification Class.

QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum age to qualify as a school bus driver is eighteen (18) years of age. Possess or be able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License in either Class A, B, or C depending on the type vehicle to be driven with the proper P and S endorsement, or a valid Class P (Instructional) license.

You must apply for the S endorsement at a DMV office and pay the required fees. You must then pass a road (skills) test to receive the S endorsement. You must take the road test on a school bus.
