Microfluidizer® technology ensures fluid pressure is converted to high shear forces more efficiently and consistently than is readily achievable using competing technologies. By maintaining constant pressure, Microfluidizer® processors ensure that 100 percent of a given material receives exactly the same treatment.

Conventional homogenizers generate wildly inconsistent pressures, typically achieving peak pressure less than 10 percent of the time during a given pass. In contrast, Microfluidizer® processors achieve and sustain peak pressure significantly longer.

High-pressure homogenizers are generally more suitable for larger-scale production and applications that require higher throughput, while microfluidizers are better suited for smaller-scale production and applications that require more precise control over particle size and distribution.

A microfluidizer uses a pump to create high pressure to disintegrate fibers using shear forces. Fiber suspension is fed into the inlet and then forced through a Y-type or Z-type narrow channel under high pressure.

How our Microfluidizer® Processors Work. Product enters the system via the inlet reservoir and is pulled into a constant pressure pumping system which pushes the material through a fixed geometry Interaction Chamber™ at up to 30,000psi (2068 bar) where it experiences consistent, high shear rates and impact forces.
