Get Darien Lake Hunting

Highlights of Darien Lakes State Park: Recently restored, the pond is habitat for large-mouth bass and yellow perch, as well as various species of waterfowl and aquatic life.

The park features 158 campsites (equipped with electricity) with heated comfort stations and showers, a sandy beach, playgrounds, fishing for largemouth black bass, hiking and horseback riding trails, picnic areas, and a rustic bridge over the lake channel to Picnic Island.

Hunting within State Parks New York state lands offer many places to hunt, including 81 parks, 3 historic sites, 3 golf courses and 50 boat launches that provide chances to hunt a variety of different wildlife including big game, small game, turkey, furbearers, waterfowl and migratory bird species.

Hunters must carry their permit, hunting license and photo I.D. while hunting or scouting in the Park and produce them on request to any law enforcement officer or park employee. Any unauthorized alteration will void your permit. This permit is valid only in the hunting areas indicated on the attached map(s).

Hunting in Letchworth & Silver Lake State Park is by permit only. Letchworth State Park is Wildlife Management Unit 8M. Vehicles are allowed on public roadways only. Off road operation is prohibited.

Darien Lakes State Park's hilly terrain features woodlands, ravines, streams, and twelve-acre Harlow Lake. The park's campsites are equipped with electricity, except for the 13 primitive sites. There are heated comfort stations and showers. Swimming is permitted at our beach when lifeguards are on duty.

Darien Lakes State Park is a 1,845-acre (7.47 km2) state park in western Genesee County, New York, near Darien Center. The park entrance is on Harlow Road, north of U.S. Route 20.
