The California Property Tax Assistance Program If you are a California resident 62 or over, are a low-income resident, and/or have qualifying disabilities, you may be able to apply for cash assistance from the state for property taxes.

The Treasurer and Tax Collector mails the Annual Secured Property Tax Bills each year in October to every owner listed on the Secured Tax Roll. Per State law, we mail all property tax bills no later than November 1.

The Form 571L or 571A constitutes an official request that you declare all assessable business property situated in this county which you owned, claimed, possessed, controlled or managed on the tax lien date. The form is approved by the State Board of Equalization (BOE) but forms are administered by the county.

In general, you can estimate that the taxes will be 1.2% of the assessed value. For example, if your personal property assessment is $10,000, your personal property tax bill should be roughly $120.00.
