¶15-535, Personal Exemptions Unlike federal law, Oregon does not allow personal exemptions, but does allow personal exemption credits. Also, an additional personal exemption credit is allowed a taxpayer for a dependent child who is disabled as of the close of the tax year.

Oregon Business Development Department Enterprise zones exempt businesses from local property taxes on new plants and equipment for three to five years in a standard zone, and up to 15 years in a rural zone.

To receive a tax exemption, file your claim with the county assessor after January 1 and no later than April 1. For the first year of any such exemption, qualified property must be listed on a Form OR-EZ-PS, Oregon Enterprise Zone Property Schedule, 150-310-076, and included with this claim.

Each person qualifying for the exemption under ORS 307.286 (Homestead exemption) shall file with the county assessor, on forms supplied by the assessor, a claim in writing on or before August 1 following the end of the tax year for which the exemption is claimed.
