Get Air Force Rotc Cadet

You will attend Field Training for AFROTC cadets, which is two weeks long held at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama. You will not attend any other type of basic training such as enlisted basic training.

Cadets ebb and flow, some join later in the program, some take longer to finish their degree and take an extra year, but most do not make it through the program. AFROTC is not hard, but it is time consuming and you have to want it to make it through.

What is ROTC? The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) produces leaders for the Air Force. It is an educational program that gives men and women the opportunity to become Air Force officers while completing their degrees. Cadets receive military training while going to college.

Within AFROTC detachments, the students (referred to as "cadets") are organized into wings, groups, squadrons, and flights, mirroring the USAF functional wing structure.

As an AFROTC cadet, you'll have many opportunities to travel and experience things typical college students only dream of. You can fly airplanes—or maybe you'd like to jump out of one. You can learn hand-to-hand combat skills or gain insight into the day-to-day operations of an Air Force base.

A Cadet is a trainee that is enrolled in a military officer producing program. The ROTC program has two categories of Cadets enrolled in the program: Enrolled Cadets and Contracted Cadets.
