Fundations® is a prevention and early-intervention program designed to help reduce reading and spelling failure.

This fundations assessment is more child friendly and easy to use than the traditional assessment. Use this assessment as a pre-test or post test for your students fundations skills!

The Fundations Progress Monitoring Tool is specifically designed to measure what students know compared to the skills taught in the Fundations Level 1 curriculum.

However, the three main reasons teachers conduct student progress monitoring include (a) evaluating student learning outcomes, (b) considering instructional change, and (c) determining eligibility for other educational services.

In a Tier 1 setting, Fundations is a whole-class, general education program universally designed to serve all K-3 students. Lessons are taught by the regular classroom teacher and are delivered for 30 minutes per day.

Formative assessment/progress monitoring is built into the Fundations® program with every single lesson. The teacher is able to assess students' skills because instruction is visible and explicit, and all students are actively participating in the learning.

The Fundations Unit Test measures a student's knowledge of concepts that are taught in a specific Fundations unit. Fundations Unit Tests are administered at the end of each instructional unit. The benchmark is 80% for each test.
