The Mcard is the University of Michigan's single-card program that combines many features including photo identification, library borrowing privileges, building access, meal plans and Blue Bucks access all on one card. All of the university community is required to have a valid Mcard.

Mcards are valid up to one year. People who have had a previous Mcard will be required to turn it in to obtain the new Mcard, otherwise a $20 replacement fee may apply. To replace expired Mcards, an ID Issuing Station will require new Mcard Request and Change forms, $4.00 and the expired Mcards.

Your U-M ID will also be viewable in the upper left-hand side of your Enrollment Connect portal, just underneath the name of the School or College on our campus to which you applied. If you are unable to locate your U-M ID, please call the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 734-764-7433 for assistance.

The UMID number is the cardholder's eight digit student number or employee number. The Mcard has many uses from building access to discounts!

Obtaining a replacement Mcard If an Mcard isn't found after a day or so, a replacement card can be obtained at any of the ID issuing stations located on campus (Michigan Medicine Mcards are only issued at the Key & ID Office). Effective 7/1/2000, a $20 replacement fee is charged for lost, stolen, or abused Mcards.

It is printed on the front of your Mcard. Many units, such as the Benefits Office, ask people for this number as an identifier when providing services.

Cardholders wishing to change their original decision will need to return to an ID issuing station to either have a new photo taken for electronic storage purposes or to delete their photo by completing a form which will be available at any ID issuing station or at the Mcard forms web page.
