The program ensures that, if you meet the eligibility requirements​​ of the law, you will have some income while you are looking for a job, up to a maximum of 26 full weeks in a one-year period, depending on when the claim was​ established.

Within 7-10 days of filing your claim you will receive a UI Finding in the mail (see sample below). Among other things, the UI Finding shows your base period wages, your weekly benefit amount, and your bi-weekly certification day. Certify every two weeks to receive benefits.

If you did not file your claim on time because of issues with the IDES website, ask a rep about backdating your claim by calling (800) 244-5631.
