To earn a high school diploma, you need to earn 30 secondary school credits. English programs are offered in English in English-language schools and French programs are offered in French-language schools. You can also take credit courses at home through the Independent Learning Centre.

The Ontario Student Record (OSR) is the record of a student's educational progress through schools in Ontario.

The main parts of an OSR must be retained for 55 years from the date the student leaves school. Other records in the OSR including report cards and the documentation file must be retained for five years after the student leaves school.

To obtain a transcript from a California public school, you will need to contact the school directly. If the school is closed, we suggest contacting the local school district or the County Office of Education for assistance. Contact information for these entities may be obtained from the California School Directory.

High School Transcripts Certain Ontario high schools allow you to request your official high school transcript electronically (completed courses only) through OCAS. You can access it from the 105 application in the Transcripts section under “Transcripts from Ontario High Schools” and “Find out if you are eligible”.

Requesting an OST? Contact the Guidance Department of the school you last attended to request a transcript. All secondary schools keep student transcripts for 55 years. Contact information for all DDSB schools is available in the school directory.

The parent, guardian, or student, can make a request to the principal of the school to examine the student's OSR. For example, they could request an appointment to view the OSR at the school office. The request may be made either in writing or verbally.
