Get Positive Data Log

One of my favourite (and super easy) techniques for handling anxiety or panic attacks is the daily practice of keeping a positive (data) log. A positive log is essentially a place for you to reflect and take a few minutes to be mindful and notice the positives.

Starting a positive log is simple: Write the date. Reflect on your day and think about something positive that was said to you, that happened to you, that you enjoyed. ... Make a habit of doing this daily and keep your positive log close by (near your bed, in your handbag/briefcase/backpack, etc.)

Examples Of Positive Core Beliefs; Life is good. I'm confident. People always like me. I can do anything I want to do. I'm good at a lot of things. Good things happen when you make them happen. Others will help me. I can do this.

A positive data log is just what it sounds like: it is a record kept over a medium to long periods of time that reflects and reinforces the new, healthier ways of thinking that you are increasingly adept at.

You can find your core beliefs by using the downward arrow technique. This involves following each thought down to the basement; to the underlying belief it came from. To begin, bring to mind a thought about yourself that you have often, such as, “I procrastinate too much.” Ask yourself, “What does that mean about me?”
