The anesthesia record is a document that provides information about perioperative care. This provides data on preoperative assessment, anesthesia management, vital parameters, and intraoperative events.

During surgery or the procedure, the anesthesiologist will monitor your heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and other vital signs to make sure they are normal and steady while you remain unconscious and free of pain.

The minimum variables that should be recorded are heart rate and respiratory rate, as well as oxygenation status and blood pressure if these were monitored. Record heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature in the early recovery phase.

Patients commonly arrive from surgery with a low body temperature.

Hands-on monitoring Anesthetic depth is typically measured using reflexes. When a patient is under a deep plane of anesthesia, the palpebral reflex should be absent, but the corneal reflex should remain present. Loss of the corneal reflex indicates that the patient is too deep and in danger.

A properly trained veterinary nurse is the most important monitor for patients under anaesthesia.
