Get Visitation Offender Inmates 2015-2024

Upon arrival to a prison Reception Center, the inmate must go through the reception and classification process. This could take up to 90 days. Once all the inmate's case factors are reviewed he/she/they will be assigned a classification score.

This process takes approximately 14 – 21 business days to complete. As each case is unique, it is difficult to estimate how long any process may take. The release date and unit of release will be posted on the TDCJ website.

Offender visitation in TDCJ units shall be conducted in an accommodating manner, in keeping with the need to maintain order, safety of persons and security of the unit. However, visitation is a privilege and may be temporarily restricted for an offender or a visitor, if rule violations occur or security concerns exist.

G4 - Faith Based Row, Most Innovative Program G4 offenders are classified as medium custody because of behavioral problems, and as a result, live with certain restrictions. A G4 offender wrote "If you can't act right in society, you go to prison. If you can't act right in prison, you go to medium custody."

If TDCJ Correctional Officers are running low, you will be hired within a week or two of applying. One month or longer. Background check, urine drug screening are required but training is paid.

PROCEDURES: The principal custody designations for Institutional offenders are General Population Level 1 (G1), General Population Level 2 (G2), General Population Level 3 (G3), General Population Level 4 (G4), General Population Level 5 (G5) and maximum (administrative segregation) custody.

You must not be on active duty in the military, unless on terminal leave. (Applicants may screen if they are within 6 months of eligibility.) You must not have been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions. You must never have been convicted of a felony.

Letters sent to offenders may not contain uninspectable substances such as perfume, stickers, lipstick, bodily fluid, powdery substances or artwork using paint, glitter, glue, or tape. Offenders may only receive greeting cards directly from an approved third party vendor.
