The Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement) program reimburses eligible New Jersey residents who are senior citizens or disabled persons for property tax increases on their principal residence (home). Complete this questionnaire to see if you may be eligible for a 2022 Senior Freeze.

Income Limit Your total annual income (combined if you were married or in a civil union and lived in the same home) was: 2021 – $94,178 or less; and. 2022 – $99,735 or less.

You (or your spouse/civil union partner) were: 65 or older on December 31, 2021; or. Actually receiving federal Social Security disability benefit payments (not benefit payments received on behalf of someone else) on or before December 31, 2021.

Who is eligible for the ANCHOR program? ANCHOR eligibility is as follows: • NJ homeowners with income of $150,000 or less will receive $1,500. NJ homeowners with income of more than $150,000 and up to $250,000 will receive $1,000. NJ residential renters with income of $150,000 or less will receive $450.

Form PTR-1 is for applicants who are filing for a reimbursement the first time (or who filed an application the previous year that we denied because the applicant did not meet all the eligibility requirements).

PTR-1. This form is for applicants who did NOT receive a 2021 Senior Freeze/Property Tax Reimbursement. PTR-2. This form is for applicants who received a 2021 Senior Freeze/Property Tax Reimbursement.

Phil Murphy signed the 2022-2023 budget. It replaces what used to be called the Homestead Rebate Program. New Jersey residents who owned or rented their home as of October 1, 2019, met income requirements and filed state income taxes are eligible.
