In 1915, the members of Kappa Alpha Nu officially changed the name of the fraternity to Kappa Alpha Psi because white students at Indiana University took to calling the brothers: Kappa Alpha... (you fill in the blank).

The five (5) Objectives of Kappa Alpha Psi: To encourage honorable achievement in every field of human endeavor; To promote the spiritual, social, intellectual and moral welfare of its members; To assist the aims and purposes of colleges and universities; To inspire service in the public's interest.

They are Chapter Advisors and Regional Directors. In 1985, AKPsi elected the first Female Fraternity Vice President, in 1991, the first Female Foundation Chairman, in 2003, the first Female Fraternity Chairman, and in 2007, finally, the first Female Fraternity President.

National Union of Public Employees.

One “wore” a cane. These old canes were decorative, objects to be admired and be proud of. They became collectors items and represented the true sign of a Gentleman. Members of Kappa Alpha Psi have always worn or carried canes since the beginning of the Fraternity in 1911.

Our Letters. The Greek letters, in specific order the letters Kappa, Alpha and Psi represent the name of the Fraternity and the fraternal bond it's members share.

Kappa Alpha Psi® is the 2nd oldest existing collegiate historically Black Greek Letter Fraternity and the 1st intercollegiate Fraternity incorporated as a national body. It remains the only Greek letter organization with its Alpha Chapter on Indiana University's campus.

from Kappa Alpha Psi for alleged severe hazing. A former Fisk University student is alleging that a fraternity hazing incident last year left him with a severe laceration, internal bruises and a five-day hospitalization that led to his departure from the school.

By purchasing a brick in the Kappa Walk of Fame, a brother has the opportunity to leave a legacy in an engraved inscription and help the chapter's initiatives. The program is open to all members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Posthumous members can be installed by families and friends.

The name of the organization was changed to its current name in 1915, shortly after its creation. The fraternity is unique among NPHC affiliated organizations in that it has two names: Kappa Alpha Psi (ΚΑΨ) and Phi Nu Pi (ΦΝΠ). This second name is the source of the nickname for members, "Nupes".
